About me - MISTIKAWY EXPLORATION GEOLOGY

I am originally from southern Massachusetts and have called Laramie home the last four years. I became interested in geology after taking a course on oceanography as a freshman at Boston College I hoped to learn about giant squids and whales but instead became fascinated with midocean ridges and plate boundaries. I later received a M.S. in Geoscience at the University of Massachusetts, where I completed a dissertation on integrating in-situ monazite petrochronology, geothermobarometry, and microstructural analysis to understand the tectonic evolution of the Grenvillian Adirondack Mountains in northern New York. After completing my M.S. I moved to Laramie to pursue a Ph.D. in Geology at the University of Wyoming, however I departed after a year to experience a career in industry. I worked as a consultant for three years prior to returning to academia. My research interests broadly include economic and exploration geology, metamorphic petrology, structural geology, geostatistics, and GIS.

When I'm not geeking out over rocks I enjoy cooking and baking, hanging out with my dogs, and playing music with my friends. I am currently the guitarist, part-time mandolinist, and vocalist for Box of Rocks, an acoustic band based in Laramie, WY. You can follow us here:
